Heading back to CHCH

all seasons in one day 22 °C

Leaving the BOI was a little sad, especially as we probably could have done a few more things given time and money and we both agreed that when the weather was fine it would be a really great place to be. Just as we left Paihia the sun was out, bright and shiny, and it looked like it was going to be a really great day - typical !

We took the scenic route back to Auckland, stopping one night in Waiwera (which was a major disappointment - don't believe everything you read on the internet !) but did manage to stumble across the most amazing of beaches at Waipu Cove. This looked like real surfing territory and whilst a few people were out in wetsuits Tracey & I decided this was too good an opportunity to miss, so we changed into our swim stuff and got straight into these great Pacific waves. Bloody cold at first but you soon grow accustomed to it.

Headed back to Christchurch satruday evening. Just enough time to doing washing, check emails and write blogs (!) before heading off to Franz Josef and Queenstown early sunday morning and a great chance to get to know tracey's Mum and Dad better.

Hi you two!

Just noticed the time of the last entry by you J, 4.02 a.m. I guess you couldn't sleep.

It sounds like you are having a holiday of a lifetime you both look very relaxed in the photo.

I thought I'd just drop you a line before I start work, sitting at my desk its 08.41 a.m. It will be busy here over the next few days as Dr. Chris will be sending out all (maybe 200) his Christmas cards and wanting me to post them for him. Last minute jobs and such will have to be done before end of play on Wednesday as that's when I finish for Christmas.

I am already busy packing just to make sure that I am going to have room for everything. Debbie has given me a small list of items to take her including P.G. Tips, Battenburg, Eccles cakes, gingersnaps, polo's and Terry Chocolate Orange!!!! :)

Will be hunting out the E111 this evening and finishing off washing and ironing to take with us. David getting a little nervous I think as we will be meeting Debbie's sister's new partner so another name for him to remember. Here are Debbie's details just incase:

Debbie Hilverda-Kusters
Rosenthaler Str 83
4189 Wassenberg-Birglen
Germany

Tel 0049 2432 890698

Will probably write you again before we leave - we travel on 23rd at 06.25 and travel back on 3rd at 20.30.
